Singapore DAY 1: Zoo and Cityscapes

Day 1 was actually more like a half day 1 because the other half was consumed in bed and in the living room with never ending stories. We reached my brother's crib at about past 2 in the morning and you know what comes after. I badly wanted to tuck everyone to their beds and shut their mouths and eyes for them so we can go out early. But even myself is too excited to sleep!

Got up at around 10AM, had breakfast and then bath time! I just need to share this because we were all laughing so hard seeing Amber love the tub so much. She was crying when I took her out!
Their MRT is everything that our MRT is not. Please don't get me wrong but I really admire how clean and neat and efficient their's is.No guards to check on your bags, no people pushing each other just to get inside, and most especially no delayed trains.

And since it was almost after lunch time that we head out, we grabbed something to eat before our first itinerary. One thing I don't like about this country is their food. Haha Sorry, big deal talaga yung food. Well,  of course I weren't able to try out as many but of what I just had, I wasn't impressed. I think most of these soups tastes bland.  The chicken and the green blanched veggie taste good, though.
Our destination for the day was the Singapore Zoo. Now I wonder why did we ever still have to include that in the itinerary. Oh, I remember! I wanna see a white tiger. Hihi It may have been a waste of time for others but for me, surely not!
That monkey in the middle picture is funny. He was so still while others his/her kind is busy playing around. I guess he''s deep in his thoughts. The zoo have free ranging monkeys hence the orangutan on the lower left picture. They would even move like they are showing off. :)

Let the photos do the talking:

Mom and my sister-in-law
My closest encounter with lemurs! Feels eerie hence my weird grin. They roam freely within the Fragile Forest section of the Zoo together with bats, butterflies, deers and sloths.

This is so far my fave photo of Amberr
One thing I noticed about Singapore's attractions is that they don't actually mind if you bring foods from outside. So long, of course that you do not litter. Everyone's expected to have decency and discpline. Admirable. Also, they do not serve rice in most food chains. Nakakagutoooom!lol I'm so pinoy, okay.
After the zoo, we head back to the city and went strolling in Raffles and Marina. We couldn't let having pictures in merlion pass no. Haha. But that was to no avail. Sobrang daming tao.
Raffles and Marina Bay Sands
The Fullerton Hotel is so Grecian. And I love it. So grand and luxurious. An oh, apparently I've spotted our client's building- one of the highest. No, not Maybank, though. lol
Some light and/or fountain show. Bubbles for finale!

Singapore is the first country I have visited outside the Philippines and I instantly fell in love with it. I like how the surrounding is clean, neat and in order. Everything seemed strategically placed. Seeing places this nice makes you wish our country is the same. When we went to raffles, my sister-in-law was out somewhere meeting her friends. Amber needs to rest and so are we because we had a long day but I just can't seem to submit. I want to see and experience more since we will only be there for the weekend. I asked them to just go home and I'll just wander around the city alone while waiting for my sister-in-law. My mom is not comfortable with the idea since it's almost past 9 in the evening no matter how my brother reassures her it's safe. Nobody's gonna snatch your camera, stalk you nor do anything nasty on you like what we see and hear everyday in the news in Manila. Singapore is that lovely and friendly for me. Too bad didn't had the chance to walk around alone.

When you get tired of the malls on weekends, you can try and have picnics anywhere with less people and noise because though it's a city with flourishing businesses all over the place, there is no trace of pollution in the air. The trees and plants in the highway is green as it should be, not bathe in dust. Public transportation would not make you feel uneasy. Their buses are clean and comfortable with well disciplined people queing to get in. I see a lot of people in public transportation wearing chunks of jewelries, using their MBP and other high end gadgets. They don't seem to be scared that someone might just stick an ice pick on their side.
Sigh.
